A countdown that matches your series
ProPresenter can show a plain timer, but most churches want the countdown to look like the rest of the series. This tool starts with the graphic you already made and gives it life: a slow push toward the artwork, soft light leaks drifting across it, and a film grain that makes a flat graphic feel like a moving picture. The timer sits on top in the style and spot you choose.
Switch to motion loop and the same look becomes a seamless background with no timer, for walk-in, worship, announcements, or a lobby screen.
The looks
Film
Moderate grain, a touch of dust, and gentle light leaks. A good default for most series graphics.
Warm leak
Big, warm glows drifting across the frame with light grain. Great for Christmas, Easter, and anything golden-hour.
Vintage
Heavy grain, dust, and a deep vignette, like an old film print. Best on simple, bold artwork.
Clean drift
Just a slow push and drift, no texture. Use it when your artwork is detailed or the series look is crisp and modern.
How to use it in ProPresenter
- Upload your series graphic at full size, ideally 1920 × 1080 or larger, with space left for the timer.
- Pick a look, set the countdown length, and place the timer.
- Export the MP4 and add it to your ProPresenter media library.
- Set the countdown to play once, and start it exactly that many minutes before service. For a motion loop, set it to repeat.
Make one countdown at the start of each series and you're set for every week of it. Export a few lengths if your pre-service time changes for special services.
Tips for a clean result
- Leave room for the timer. Artwork with a clear area in the lower third works best with the Lower position.
- Keep detailed art clean. Heavy grain fights fine lines and small text. Turn it down or use Clean drift.
- Use 24 fps for a film feel. It also makes files a little smaller. Use 30 fps if the rest of your stream runs at 30.
- Test the loop point. Play a loop on repeat once before Sunday. It should flow with no jump.
Frequently asked questions
Is the countdown maker free?
Yes. There's no account, no watermark, and no limit on exports.
Does my artwork get uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, including the video export. Your graphic never leaves your computer.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, and Safari export fastest. The tool uses your browser's built-in video encoder, so very old browsers can't export.
What kind of file do I get?
An H.264 MP4, the most widely supported video format. It plays in ProPresenter, Resolume, vMix, OBS, and on most TVs and computers.
How big are the files?
It depends on length, resolution, and how much grain you add. The tool shows an estimate before you export. A 5-minute 1080p countdown on Balanced quality is a few hundred megabytes.
Can I make one for my LED wall's exact size?
Yes. Choose Custom under Export and enter your wall's resolution, like 1920 × 1152. Not sure what it is? Use our LED wall calculator.
Is it safe for people sensitive to flashing?
The tool is built so nothing flashes. Brightness changes are slow and subtle, well under the 3-flashes-per-second guideline, and grain is a fine, even texture. Still, keep the grain and dust light on very large screens.
